Local Choirs with LSU's Dr. Pam Hodson, & WDSU's Juli Miller & Steve Bellas

The first Friday in December is WDSU Day at Shady Pond. "Channel 6 News Today" originates from the Tree Farm. The program is broadcast by satellite in the 5:30 to 7:00 A.M. time slot.

Hosted by Steve Bellas and Juli Miller, it is always a festive time and a bit unpredictable. The broadcast includes local choirs, holiday fire safety, preview of the new exotic trees, trimmer demonstration and usually some surprises. Chef Michael Roussel surprised us recently by preparing Bananas Foster, the Brennan's original, at the Tree Farm...yummy in the tummy.

In prior years, variations included discussions of Louisiana's coastal restoration project and a planting demonstration for living Christmas trees.
